I finally got around to actually looking at this game rather than just saying that I was going to look at this game.

The big alternate plan that I can see for you comes on move 7. After he plays 6.......Nb6. It would seem that you could try to play 7. e6. However after he plays 7....f6 (Rg8 is clearly worse because then you get to keep his king in the center and Ng5 is on the way) Your best followup is probably 8. Bb5, pinning the pawn against the king. This position is not bad, but I think he can still get out of it, but you are probably already a slight plus here. He must then play Nc6 or a6.

When I get home I will try and get a little bit deeper, but I am not at the board right now. I will also find my favorite game and post it up here for comments.
